Custom Trim Restores and 18th Century Folly
It is with great pride that we share the work of our Custom Division and their role in the restoration of the Turkish Tent in Painshill Park, an 18th century English landscape garden in Cobham, Surrey.
“We are delighted to support Painshill Park Trust in restoring their Turkish Tent to its former glory. The Royal Blue trimmings really enhance the grand entrance to this iconic structure,”
Michael Cohen, Managing Director of Samuel & Sons
The Royal Blue of the Turkish Tent’s decorated roof was recreated in vibrant bullion fringe and tassels to replace folly’s faded trimmings.
Restored by Painshill Park Trust in 1995, the Turkish Tent served as a place for visitors to take refreshment whilst admiring the Hon Charles Hamilton’s – the creator of Painshill – signature view across the lake towards the Gothic Temple and crystal Grotto.
